Theory of Empowering Leadership
Though there are many theories of leadership one can parse out the theories into three basic categories; ones that believes leadership to be an intrinsic (genetic) trait, others that believes leadership to be made of character traits that can be learned, and those that believe it to come about at the interface of the two.
Irrespective of whether you envision the traits to be innate or learned one has to begin by defining what constitutes effective human traits, characteristics, or simply behaviors? These, one would say, are behaviors that will allow an individual to fully realize their potential, and in the context of a community lead effectively.
The human brain is a remarkable engine that has nearly infinite capacity. It has billions of cells which make trillions of connections. Each and every brain has immense creative capacity, yet for millennia they have been used merely as simplistic memory devices with the ability to create motion. The brains true gift of creativity has rarely been used.
